Isaac Oporto has been named Rotary Student of the month for September. He is the son of Terra Oporto and David Oporto.

Isaac has maintained a GPA of 3.5 and stays very active at Sedro-Woolley High School. If there is something happening on campus, you will more than likely find Isaac there — taking pictures, providing support, or leading the charge! Isaac has natural leadership skills and has used them to serve the student body faithfully throughout his high school years. He has been a member of student government at SWHS since his freshman year, and is serving as ASB president this year. He is also active in Yearbook, Varsity in Volunteerism, CAMP, and RISE.

Outside of school, Isaac enjoys volunteering, photography, graphic design, hiking, and travel. Hawaii and Italy are at the top of his list of destinations! Here in Sedro-Woolley, he has worked at the local Pioneer Marketplace as well.

After graduation, Isaac would like to attend WSU and major in either Project Management, Marketing, Graphic Design or Digital Media.

When asked who inspires him, Isaac says he really looks up to his parents, who he describes as hardworking, supportive, and funny. Isaac, it’s easy to see that you have those very same traits!

Thank you for all of the excellence and heart you have poured into our school and the Cub community. We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Marley Cronk, September’s Soroptimist Student of the Month! Marley is the daughter of Mandy and Michael Cronk and a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. After graduation, she plans to attend Central Washington University to study primate behavior and Ecology, with a double major in Biology. She plans to pursue a Master’s degree as well.

Marley says CTE classes have helped shape her future career plans “by providing diverse courses. After taking almost half of the provided classes, I have found a passion in art and photography. I hope to intertwine this passion with my future career!”

Marley enjoys volunteering with Skagit Trail Builders and hanging out with friends. Her favorite interests include art, music, concerts, video games, thrifting, and primates. One of her favorite quotes comes from Dr. Jane Goodall, a key role model in her life: “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”

Congratulations Marley - we cannot wait to witness your impact on the world around you!
