Eniko Gomez, a Special Education Teacher at Evergreen Elementary School, has been awarded the Special Education Department Employee of the Year for her exceptional commitment and contributions.
Eniko is a reliable team member who collaborates seamlessly with colleagues, providing invaluable support to a new partner teacher.
Eniko's dedication to inclusion is evident in her collaborative efforts with therapists to develop co-lessons, ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive. Moreover, Eniko's proactive approach to addressing staff shortages by creatively working with administration showcases her reliability and dedication to ensuring smooth operations within the school.
Beyond her role within the classroom, Eniko’s positive attitude creates a nurturing environment for both students and staff alike.
Eniko's commitment to continuous improvement is evident in her willingness to observe other programs and collaborate with the University of Washington, showcasing her leadership in fostering growth and innovation within the school community.
Eniko's transformative work within the special education program has a profound impact on students, families, and the entire district.
Cascade Middle School’s Sources of Strength program will be hosting a Family Day Luncheon on Wednesday, May 29.
Any family member can join their child during their student’s assigned lunch. Families will have two options:
Bring a special lunch for you and your child(ren). If you are bringing a special lunch, please RSVP by May 25.
The second option is to buy a school lunch for $5. The CMS kitchen will be featuring a soft taco bar that day featuring a locally sourced tortilla, with cold sandwich options available as well. If you plan on purchasing a school lunch, please RSVP by May 20 so our Food Service staff can plan for the correct number of people. We ask that families pre-pay for meals in the office by May 28 as cash is not accepted in the lunchroom.
With both options, the school needs you to RSVP so we can arrange seating for this amazing opportunity here at Cascade Middle School. To RSVP please fill out the Google survey link below or call the main office at 360-855-3520.

PARKER NELSON has been named May Student of the Month for the Rotary Club of Sedro-Woolley. He is the son of Tony and Janá Nelson of Big Lake.
Parker maintains a 3.64 GPA while being actively involved in Sedro-Woolley High School. He has been a member of the SWHS Trap Shooting team 4 years in a row, lettering all 4 years. During this trap shooting season, he placed 1st for Sedro-Woolley and 2nd at Districts. Parker has participated 4 years on our Varsity Boys Soccer team, lettering all 4 years. He currently attends Skagit Valley College (SVC) as a Running Start student. Parker has earned an Academic Excellence award each quarter at SVC.
Outside of school, Parker enjoys spending time with his friends and family, hunting, fishing, working out, and being outside as much as the weather permits. He bucks hay in the summer along with doing landscaping work. Parker attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 16, which is a continuing tradition as a fourth-generation Eagle Scout alongside his brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
After graduation, Parker will be attending Washington State University (WSU) to major in Mechanical Engineering. He will also be graduating from SVC this June, with a transferable Associate's Degree of Science, which will start him as a Junior at WSU. Congratulations Parker!
ZOEY BACUS has been named May Student of the Month for the Rotary Club of Sedro-Woolley. She is the daughter of Stacy Bacus of Sedro-Woolley.
Zoey maintains a 3.8 GPA while being actively involved in Sedro-Woolley High School. She has participated in Varsity Soccer all 4 years of high school, lettering each year, as well as holding the title of Team Captain 2 years in a row. She is a 2-year member of the National Honor Society. Zoey is currently enrolled in Northwest Career and Technical Academy for the medical science program, and upon completion, she will be a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Outside of school, Zoey enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing soccer, being outside, and going to the lake. Zoey has previously worked at Tulip Town.
After graduation, Zoey plans to continue her education at Pacific Lutheran University. Her end game is to become a Registered Nurse. Congratulations Zoey!
