Early this morning, a tree fell in front of the steps at Central Elementary School, causing damage to one of the light poles and the handrail on one side. Fortunately, no one was injured. 🎄✨ Sweet Creations at Good Beginnings Preschool! ✨🎄 This morning, our preschool students, along with their parents, transformed into master builders as they crafted gingerbread houses brimming with candy and holiday cheer! 🍭🍬 Marshmallows were the snack of choice, with students sneaking a taste here and there (and maybe a few Smarties too 😉). 🎄✨ Elf-ing Around at Cascade Middle School! ✨🎄 Principal Stephanie Bachmeier is spreading holiday cheer with her Elf on the Shelf antics! 🎅✨ This morning, she surprised students by perching on the shelf at the Cashier's window to greet them as they arrived. 📚 Between periods, she hid in the library book return bin, keeping the fun going! 📐🎨 Math Meets Art at Cascade Middle School! Seventh graders in Maddie Jones and Erin Rose’s math classes are putting their math skills to the test with a fun and creative scale drawing project! 🖌️📰 Using cartoons and comics from donated Skagit Valley Herald newspapers, students determined the largest whole-number scale factor to enlarge their chosen image to fit an 8.5x11” piece of paper. The challenge? Balancing both the length and height ratios of the original comic (no bigger than their hand) and their scaled-up masterpiece. 🖤✂️ Some students discovered their inner Picasso 🎨, while others took a more abstract approach—but all practiced real-world applications of ratios and proportions in a unique way!
