🎉 Join the Baile Folklórico Dance Group! 🎉 We are excited to invite girls in grades 3rd—12th to join a Baile Folklórico dance group. This group will be performing at the Celebrating Our Culture Night in May. Central, Evergreen and Mary Purcell elementary schools are excited to kick off the annual "Learn Around Town Scavenger Hunt" on Friday! The "hunt" runs from Friday, February 28th, through Friday, March 14th and offers our in-town elementary school students a chance to explore the Sedro-Woolley community while engaging in fun, educational activities. This year, 11 local businesses are participating, each providing an activity that students can complete on-site or take home. Activities include word searches, designing a t-shirt, creating a menu, and more! Scavenger Hunt boards will be sent home with students today, detailing participating locations and instructions. As students visit each business, they will mark their boards and inform their teacher. Those who complete the hunt and turn in their board by March 18th will have the chance to win great prizes! Andreanna Evans has been named as one of the February Soroptimist Students of the Month. Andreanna is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Andreanna enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering around our little community, participating in school activities, and being creative with projects. She has played the viola in orchestra since 5th grade. She played soccer and tennis all four years and was a member of the high school's sports medicine team. She is currently a part time student at Northwest Career and Technical Academy. CTE classes here at SWHS have helped shape her future goals by helping her make a final decision on what she wants to do with her life. After high school, Andreanna will be joining the United States Navy and will start training to become an Advanced Search and Rescue Medical Technician. Congratulations Andreanna!

Sarahi Martinez Palmas has been named as one of the February Soroptimist Students of the Month. Sarahi is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Sarahi enjoys spending time with her younger sister, reading, watching movies and drawing. She loves spending time after school in our ceramics studio. She is currently the Senior Class Vice President and Vice President of her 3rd Latinos in Action class. She is involved in CAMP Club, Latinos Unidos and Drama, and plays tennis. CTE classes here at SWHS have helped shape her future goals by allowing her to explore different career paths. Classes have given her the tools to learn useful time management skills, communication skills, teamwork and leadership. After high school, Sarahi plans to attend a 4-year university to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Later on, she would like to go into criminal justice or law enforcement. Congratulations Sarahi!

Ronaldo Plascencia has been named as one of the January Soroptimist Students of the Month. Ronaldo is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Ronaldo enjoys making connections with people, helping people, reading the Bible, and showing others Christ’s love. He is a very active person and enjoys doing hands-on activities. He has had experiences in his life as a young kid where he had to make a choice, to change his path, and that’s exactly what he’s done. He is a member of the Harvest Vision Ministries, which is a 501-C3 non profit organization. He is guided by Christ and loves to share His word with others. CTE classes here at SWHS have helped shape his future goals by helping him learn skills that he can practice in the real world. “Hands-on work is a great thing to have in our schools,” he states. After high school, Ronaldo plans to go straight into the workforce as a missionary. Congratulations Ronaldo!

Savannah Harp has been named as one of the January Soroptimist Students of the Month. Savannah is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Savannah enjoys spending time with friends and family, doing nails and makeup, painting and drawing. She loves practicing nail designs and experimenting with different nail colors. CTE classes here at SWHS have helped shape her future goals by helping her learn math, and retain math knowledge, and she has learned the importance of what it takes to run a business. After high school, Savannah plans to attend Skagit Valley College to obtain a business degree. Following, she would like to attend Evergreen Beauty College to obtain a cosmetology and esthetician license. Her long term career goal is to own her own salon one day. Congratulations Savannah!
