Nadine, a recent graduate of Sedro-Woolley High School, is currently working on her Early Childhood endorsement and has become an invaluable asset at Good Beginnings.
Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, Nadine has dedicated her time to volunteering in the Birth to Three program, making a profound impact on our Toddler class students. Her gentle demeanor and dedication to supporting peer interactions and play skills have helped create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
Beyond her work with students, Nadine is a constant source of support for our teachers. Whether she's arriving early to prepare the classroom or staying late to ensure everything is in order, Nadine's commitment to excellence is evident in everything she does.

The SWSD Transportation Department has been working with Bloodworks to set up a blood donation site at the SSB (317 Yellow Lane) on Friday, May 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They are hoping the community might take time to donate if they can!

🎭 Don't miss the Sedro-Woolley High School Drama Spring Production of the Wizard of Oz!
Support our talented performers at 7 p.m. in the SWHS Auditorium on April 25, 26, and 27 and on May 3 and 4. A special donation show will be held on April 30 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for SWSD staff, students, senior citizens and children. 🌟
Doors open at 6:30; curtain is promptly at 7 p.m. Late arrivals will need to enter the theater using the upstairs doors.
Tickets can be purchased once the doors open.

Good Beginnings Preschool is currently looking for twelve 2-year-old peer models for the new Toddler Class to start preschool in April, ending in June. Children will be screened and considered for the Toddler Class on a first-come-first-served basis.
Child must be 24 to 30 months old.
Class times will be Thursdays from 9–10:30 a.m.; 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; or 1:30–3 p.m.
Cost is $50 per month. $25 if family volunteers at least once a month (must complete and pass a background check).
Transportation is not provided. Children must be transported by their families.

Rogene Gwinn’s dedication has enriched the lives of Sedro-Woolley High School students for an impressive 29 years. She teaches Child Psychology, Family Health, and at Cubs Early Learning Academy (formerly Cub's Preschool). Her journey to Sedro-Woolley began with a desire to raise her family in this community after teaching in neighboring districts.
Rogene holds an undergraduate degree in secondary education with endorsements in psychology and family and consumer science from Eastern Washington University. Additionally, she has a master's degree in curriculum design and development.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Rogene's career has been witnessing her former preschool students return as high school students to teach in the preschool program.
For Rogene, the true measure of success lies in her students' achievements and seeing them realize their potential. Many of her former students have pursued careers in education.
Outside of the classroom, Rogene enjoys quilting, gardening, traveling and volunteering. Her commitment to her community extends beyond the school walls, as she actively participates in church activities and volunteers her time to various causes.
Looking ahead, Rogene hopes to leave her program in capable hands, fostering a love for learning and helping students discover their passions. As retirement looms on the horizon (in a few years!), she remains focused on ensuring a smooth transition for her successor.
If she could impart one piece of advice to students, it would be to embrace the present moment and forge their own path, regardless of past circumstances.
Rogene hopes that students in the Sedro-Woolley School District will take away the importance of hard work and perseverance. She encourages them to create the life they envision and seize every opportunity that comes their way.

While Foundations K and Good Beginnings students are automatically enrolled, we encourage families to attend open houses. This way, you can sign up for kindergarten screening meetings, WA Kids sessions, and complete necessary paperwork tailored to your neighborhood school.
Don't forget to bring copies of your child’s birth certificate and immunization records to complete the registration process.
