The Sedro-Woolley School District Board of Directors recognizes that nonprofit organizations may want to distribute materials in the school district that are non-curricular but that have social, recreational, or educational value for students. (Board Policy 4060 & Procedure 4060P). Approved materials may be made available in school offices and/or placed on the District website. Materials will not be sent home with students.

Materials submitted by outside organizations will not be distributed/posted until authorized by the Superintendent or designee. The social, recreational, or educational value, benefit of the activity and any potential interruption of the educational program will be considered in granting approval. For materials to be considered for distribution, the following criteria must be met:

  • The following statement must clearly appear on the front of the materials to be distributed: "The Sedro-Woolley School District does not sponsor this event and the district assumes no responsibility for it. In consideration of the privilege to distribute materials, Sedro-Woolley School District shall be held harmless from any cause of action filed in any court or administrative tribunal arising out of the distribution of these materials, including costs, attorney's fees and judgments or awards."

  • One quality original in final form (including the above statement) must be delivered to the District Office, 801 Trail Road, Sedro-Woolley, at least 5 working days prior to the requested distribution/posting date.
