Tianna Benoit has been named the Soroptimist International Club of Sedro-Woolley’s Career & Technical Education Student of the Month for April 2025. the daughter of Serena and Rolie Benoit, is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Tianna enjoys being a part of the Sports Medicine team and being able to help people. She appreciates that it also allows her to watch the sports teams practice and play as well. Tianna also enjoys playing the trumpet, reading, and photography.
Taking both of the Sports Medicine classes has boosted her perspective on how the healthcare workforce functions. She really enjoyed the classes and learned a lot about injuries and patient care.
After graduation, Tianna will continue being active in the McLean Road Fire Department and become an EMT. She will then head down south and join a fire department that will send her through the paramedicine courses at Central Washington University, and then become a full time firefighter.


Samantha Jepperson has been named the Soroptimist International Club of Sedro-Woolley’s Career & Technical Education Student of the Month for May 2025. Samantha, the daughter of Ryan and Christina Jepperson, is a Senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
When Sam has free time, she enjoys going to the gym, listening to music, being outside, and spending quality time with family and friends. Sam stays busy with sports and various clubs. She has played a sport every season since Freshman year! This year she managed the boys tennis team in fall, participated in Unified Basketball in winter, and played tennis during the spring. Sam also stays busy being involved in National Honor Society as co-Vice President, as well as being a member of the STEAM club, and Varsity in Volunteerism - where she has volunteered over 100 hours within the community each school year.
Since taking Beginning Woodshop her Freshman year, Sam has fallen in love with the art of woodworking. She has taken both Core Construction and Wood Tech as well, where she learned and utilized skills such as design, mathematics, and fine motor work - skills which she will need daily as an architect.
Sam will follow her dream of becoming an certified architect by attending the University of Washington to earn her Master’s in Architecture!


Nathaniel Souza has been named the Soroptimist International Club of Sedro-Woolley’s Career & Technical Education Student of the Month for May 2025. Nathaniel, the son of Jason and Amy Souza, is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Nate is an Eagle Scout that loves to work on cars, weld, and in general work with his hands. He stays busy playing sports. He has played golf all four years of high school, football for two years. He is an active member of National Honor Society, and has participated in the Veterinary Science and Ag Mechanics teams through FFA.
Nate found his passion for working on cars when he enrolled in Beginning Auto Mechanics his Freshman year. He has taken an automotive class almost every year since, and even contemplated a career in the automotive industry. Nate credits all the CTE classes for helping him find new hobbies; finding ways to earn money in his free time; and giving him the opportunity to work with people and acquire skills that he may never have learned without CTE classes.
The Animal Science class played a key role in shaping what Nate wants for his future. He has always enjoyed animals, and the course gave him the ability to recognize his true passion. He appreciates that he was given hands-on experience through the dissecting of different systems of animals, and was able to learn how all the systems work and fit together. Nate looks forward to learning more about different animals and how he can help keep them healthy! He will be attending Washington State University with a pursuit of a degree in Animal Science through their Pre-Vet track.

Jesschelle Eldridge has been named the Soroptimist International Club of Sedro-Woolley’s Career & Technical Education Student of the Month for April 2025. Jesschelle, the daughter of Jeremy Eldridge, is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Outside of school, Jess enjoys time outdoors, and also hanging out with friends and family.
Jess says that CTE classes have given her experience that she will be able to put to use in the future, and will also help her later in life to find things that she can enjoy going forward. Overall, Jess says that CTE classes have been her favorite part of high school!
After high school, Jess plans on attending Bellingham Technical College to study veterinary medicine, and to become a Veterinary Technician.


Logan Hornbeck has been named the Soroptimist International Club of Sedro-Woolley’s Career & Technical Education Student of the Month for March 2025. Logan, the son of Ron and Loree Hornbeck, is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Logan likes being with his friends and family on his down time when he is not busy or working.
CTE classes here at SWHS have given Logan the drive to owning either his own construction or trucking company.
After high school, Logan plans to join the operators union and to own his own trucking company.


Micah Estes has been named the Soroptimist International Club of Sedro-Woolley’s Career & Technical Education Student of the Month for March 2025. Micah, the son of Mary and Kenneth Estes, is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Micah loves running, so he of course participates in track and cross country. He is also a member of the SWHS wrestling team. He enjoys volunteering in the community through various groups and outreach programs, and is also active in his local church.
CTE classes have played a huge role in shaping Micah’s career goals. He says his health classes have definitely allowed him to see his enjoyment in the field of healthcare.
After high school, Micah plans on attending the University of Washington to study biology, and to join the Air Force ROTC program. After obtaining his bachelor’s, Micah will go straight into the Air Force as a commissioned officer.


Tonight from 6 to 8 p.m., come to the Cascade Middle School Cafeteria for “Celebrating Our Culture.” Enjoy traditional dances, delicious food and a celebration of our Latino community.
