As we count down to graduation for the Class of 2026, we’re taking a look back at the 2005-2006 school year at Sedro-Woolley High School. Wow! It's already been 20 years for this group of students!
That year’s yearbook theme was “The Wonder Year” with a TV-guide style cover titled “Season Finale: The Class of 2006 Moves On.” From state championships to spirited Homecoming celebrations, the pages capture the energy and community that have long been part of Cub culture.
You’ll see highlights from FFA, Loggerodeo, athletics, Homecoming Week, and some unforgettable spirit days. And in one photo, you might even spot a couple of familiar faces who now work right here in the district. Let’s just say we’re glad they’re in the classroom these days and not climbing onto the car on top of Low Auto Sales.
As we celebrate our graduating seniors this spring, it’s fun to look back at the moments, traditions, and memories that connect generations of Cubs. Do you see any of your classmates in these photos?

Students and seniors explored how artificial intelligence is shaping today’s world, while also exchanging something equally valuable—life lessons, practical skills, and stories that span generations.
We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this meaningful intergenerational experience possible. Opportunities like this remind us that learning doesn’t only happen in classrooms—it happens through connection, curiosity, and community.

Students in science teacher Laura Degerness’s classes visited the aquarium and learned how scientifics conduct conservation research to help protect kelp forest and sea otters.
Experiences like this allow students to see science in action and learn how research and conservation efforts help protect the health of our oceans.
Thank you to Ms. Degerness for creating meaningful learning opportunities that connect classroom lessons to real-world science.

🗳️ February 10 Special Election – Ballot Reminder
Ballots for the February 10 Special Election must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Voters in the Sedro-Woolley School District will see two school district propositions on their ballot. Ballots may be returned by mail or placed in an official Skagit County ballot drop box.

Ballots are no longer postmarked when they are received, but when they are processed. Ballots mailed close to Election Day may not be processed in time to be counted. To ensure your ballot is received by the deadline, using an official ballot drop box is recommended, especially as Election Day approaches.

On Saturday, several talented Cubs competed at the Regional Solo & Ensemble Competition at Blaine High School alongside students from across Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, and Island counties—and they represented SWHS with pride, professionalism, and serious musical skill.
