Is your child turning 5 between Sept. 1, 2025 – Aug. 31, 2026 and could benefit from an extra year of growth before kindergarten?
The Foundations K program is a free, full-day early learning experience designed to support children in building confidence and readiness in:
✅ Academic skills
✅ Social-emotional development
✅ Language
✅ Motor skills
📍 Available at multiple Sedro-Woolley elementary schools
👶 For students not already enrolled in preschool or childcare
📝 A short screening helps determine eligibility
💙 Priority given to students with an identified need
Some families have been placed on a waitlist, but as applications are reviewed and spots open up, we’re continuing to place eligible students in the Foundations Kindergarten program for the 2025–2026 school year.
We encourage interested families to complete the screening process so we can fully review each application as space opens.

🍪📚 Today, families joined Ms. Georgio’s 3rd graders at Samish Elementary School for a special End-of-Year Celebration. The event kicked off with students showing families members their personal memory binders. They shared their OREO opinion writing (Opinion, Reason, Example, Opinion (restated)), their collaborative weather poster and enjoyed a slideshow of their beach field trip adventures.
🏆 The special celebration wrapped up with a personalized awards ceremony honoring each student along with juice and cookies.
Thank you, Ms. Georgio, for creating such a meaningful way to celebrate a wonderful year of learning! 💙

Today, on Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
Sedro-Woolley is home to many veterans and military families, and we recognize the deep impact this day holds for our community.
There is no school today as we reflect on their courage, dedication, and the freedoms they gave their lives to protect.
We are forever grateful.

Cascade Middle School invites all current sixth-grade students and their families to attend one of our upcoming 6th Grade Information Nights. These evenings are designed to help families prepare for a smooth transition to middle school.
🗓 Dates:
May 7 – Suggested for families from in-town schools (Central, Evergreen, Mary Purcell)
May 13 – Suggested for families from outlying schools (Big Lake, Clear Lake, Lyman, Samish)
(Due to limited parking and seating, we encourage families to attend on the date designated for their school. However, families may attend the alternate date if needed.)
