Science teacher Heather Hirschi brought chemistry to life—literally glowing—with a sublimation demonstrations featuring dry ice, water, glycerin, Dawn soap, and black lights. Dressed as a “mad scientist,” she showed students how solids can turn directly into gas, creating glowing fog and eerie gas bubbles.
Students also observed a highlighter ink reaction under black light—an electrifying twist that made the lesson even brighter! ✨
For safety reasons, students observed the experiments while Mrs. Hirschi handled the materials, but the fascination was hands-on in every other way. 🔬🎃
Way to make science glow, Ms. Hirschi!

Cascade Middle School wrapped up its 7th grade Outsiders unit today with a classic tradition — “Greaser vs. Socs Day!”
Students and staff dressed the part, celebrating the beloved S.E. Hinton novel before watching the film in class. From leather jackets and slicked-back hair to cardigans and pearls, today was all about bringing the story to life and ending the unit in true Outsiders style. 💫
📖 “Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold.”
