Is your child turning 5 between Sept. 1, 2025 – Aug. 31, 2026 and could benefit from an extra year of growth before kindergarten? The Foundations K program is a free, full-day early learning experience designed to support children in building confidence and readiness in: ✅ Academic skills ✅ Social-emotional development ✅ Language ✅ Motor skills 📍 Available at multiple Sedro-Woolley elementary schools 👶 For students not already enrolled in preschool or childcare 📝 A short screening helps determine eligibility 💙 Priority given to students with an identified need Some families have been placed on a waitlist, but as applications are reviewed and spots open up, we’re continuing to place eligible students in the Foundations Kindergarten program for the 2025–2026 school year. 💪 Today, Central Elementary was buzzing with energy as students took part in the Stronger Together Competition—a school-wide event organized by teacher Ashleigh Howell that brought fun, teamwork, and leadership to the forefront! 🌈 24 teams of students from Foundations Kindergarten to 6th grade—each with 2–3 sixth grade team captains—competed in 15 game rotations throughout the day. 👕 Teams created their own names (like Neon Pink Nike Pandas and Yellow Yo-Yos) and proudly wore custom T-shirts as they rotated through 9 stations in the morning and 6 after lunch. 📅 This culminating event took the place of Play Day and was the result of team meetings and bonding activities held all year long. It was a celebration of connection, leadership, and the spirit of working together! #CentralElementary #Teamwork #StudentLeadership

Today, on Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Sedro-Woolley is home to many veterans and military families, and we recognize the deep impact this day holds for our community. There is no school today as we reflect on their courage, dedication, and the freedoms they gave their lives to protect. We are forever grateful.

These evenings are designed to help families prepare for a smooth transition to middle school. 🗓 Dates: May 7 – Suggested for families from in-town schools (Central, Evergreen, Mary Purcell) May 13 – Suggested for families from outlying schools (Big Lake, Clear Lake, Lyman, Samish) (Due to limited parking and seating, we encourage families to attend on the date designated for their school.
