Many families don't realize Pomona Grange Park features interpretive trails, local plant information, Friday Creek access, and opportunities to spot salmon during spawning season.
This is a great place to learn while exploring this summer!
Can you find:
• A pine cone
• A bird
• A butterfly
• A cedar tree
• A flowing stream
Outdoor exploration builds observation skills and curiosity.

The last day of school may be here, but we're already preparing for the 2026–27 school year!

Students rotated through six interactive learning stations focused on environmental stewardship, natural resources and conservation. Activities included exploring local forestry and ecosystems, learning about soil and clean water protection, practicing Leave No Trace outdoor ethics, participating in a salmon life cycle game, and discovering the important role pollinators play in our food systems.
Experiences like these help students connect classroom learning to the world around them while building curiosity, teamwork and an appreciation for the environment. Thank you to the organizers and volunteers who made this meaningful learning opportunity possible for our students!

During the hands-on experience, firefighters shared valuable safety tips about preventing home fires, including the dangers of using cheap or incompatible chargers and why charging cell phones on beds or near blankets can be dangerous. Students also learned how being prepared and knowing what to do during a fire can help keep families safe.
Our students had a blast practicing on simulated fires while learning real-world safety skills they can take home and share with their families.
A huge thank you to the Big Lake Fire Department for taking the time to educate and empower our students through this meaningful experience!

There will be no school April 6 through April 10 for Spring Break.
We hope students, families, and staff enjoy a safe and relaxing break. Classes will resume on Monday, April 13.
