Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year. Thank you to our entire Sedro-Woolley school community, especially our families, for all of your support this past year! We are excited to continue to add and enhance programs and services again this year. We have added music and art instruction into the elementary day and have added a STEM teaching block and related coursework at Cascade Middle School including app design and pre-engineering coursework. At the high school we are implementing an eight period A/B day schedule to address the additional credits required for the new state graduation requirements. We are completing the safety enhancements in all of our schools this fall and all of our elementary schools will have one to one computing for their students by the end of the year.
The District is also assessing our facilities to determine future space and modernization needs related to a possible bond. A community led task force has been recently formed and will begin meeting this fall. Our facility review efforts align with the Strategic Road Map that was created and adopted in 2014 with the help of community members, families, students, staff, and school board members. The school board members have also reviewed and updated their 2015-2016 Board Goals to be aligned with the road map. Communication is again one of the top goals for our district. To communicate your comments and ideas or if you have a question, the following email address has been created for easy access email@example.com.
Our mission is to help “every student graduate with the knowledge and skills for future learning and success.” When we work together our students will accomplish amazing things and will achieve at high levels. As partners in education, we look forward to celebrating the future successes of our students with you and look forward to working with you in providing educational opportunities and high quality learning experiences for all of our students.
