Job Description: My work is primarily focused on supporting teachers with the implementation of the Next Generation Science
Standards. I work with teachers to develop new lessons and units and to shift instructional practices by facilitating professional
development, observing classroom instruction, and coaching. I also support secondary buildings by working with teacher leaders and administrators to develop and facilitate professional development for staff. Additionally, I am involved in district-level work focused around standards-based grading, new employee induction, and eliminating classroom and supply fees. Finally, I support the Skagit STEM Network by serving as an event facilitator for the STEM Like Me! program at Cascade Middle School. Job Description: As the elementary STEM lead, I’m working on helping teachers shift instruction to meet the needs of 21st century learners. We look at materials and pedagogy to find opportunities for authentic, collaborative learning; digital integration; engineering design and critical thinking. I get to work with teachers and administrators to plan, implement and reflect on instruction. Additionally, I focus on the district level implementation of standards-based grading, the shift for Evergreen to become a STEM elementary, and collaborating at the regional level to support teachers in the ESD in adopting the NGSS. Job Description: My role is primarily to support English and Social Studies teachers with the creation, improvement, and instruction of materials related to the Common Core State ELA Standards. I work with teachers at the high school, middle school, and State Street to develop lessons, units, and assessments--both formative and summative--that align with standards and address best instructional practices. In addition, I work to help improve instruction and facilitate professional development by collaborating with teacher leaders and administration throughout the district. Job Description: I am a new TOSA this year and am excited to support K-6 teachers with all things reading and writing related to the Common Core ELA State Standards! This includes but is not exclusive to the Writing Units of Study, the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System and Leveled Literacy Intervention System, effective interventions in a workshop model and integration of literacy in every subject. Job Description: My role is supporting K-6 in all things related to mathematics. I help teachers to deepen their math content knowledge by providing coaching, workshops, book studies, and job-embedded professional development. In addition to helping teachers to implement Bridges and Eureka, I am on a mission to help every teacher understand the principles of Cognitively Guided Instruction. Job Description: My role is to assist in the acquisition and implementation of educational technology tools throughout the district. I work as a liaison between the technology support department and the staff if need be. I create online and “face to face” training for teachers and staff, and I provide “one on one” assistance to teachers that want to integrate educational technology into their classrooms. I am also the administrator for the district online tools, such as Google “G-Suite” (Drive, Docs, and Mail), and Canvas (our online learning management system).
