Children do not learn by doing...
They learn by thinking, discussing, and reflecting,
    on what they have done.
Dr. William Speer, Presentation at ECTM

    5th Grade teacher

    Welcome to 5th grade.
I am pleased to say that this is my 9thyear here at Samish Elementary. I taught Special Education my first two years and then began teaching the LAP program as well. in the 2011-2012 school year, I had the wonderful oportunity to get back in the general education classroom. I began teaching 5th grade. this is my 4th year teaching fifth grade. It has been an exciting time for me. I graduated from Western Washigton University in 2002. I have woked as a General Education and Special Education teacher since that time.
My husband and I will celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary in September of 20015. We have three adult children.
It is my goal as a 5th grade teacher to bring out the best that your child has. I am determined to find something in your child that will spark their interset in learning and will build from that. I hold high expectations for your child and will expect them to become independent learners.
I am a member of the Math Support Team and The Science support team for the Sedro Woolley School District and have taken part in and continue to take part in math and science workshops and classes. It is my goal to get children to enjoy and look forward to math and science again.
I will do my best to  update you on in class projects and assignments.
    Thank you
    Mrs. Alicia Robinson
