Where every student is valued as an individual and encouraged to reach their fullest potential!!!!
            READ!  READ!  READ!
Reading at home and sharing what you read will improve your reading ability!  Be sure you read every night for at least 30 minutes.  (This program, R.A.H., will be ongoing throughout the school year. Each student will be required to read 30 minutes each week night (time can be made up on the weekends). There will be incentives for each 5 hours read, and certificates and gift cards are awarded at the end of each trimester for each student that meets the minimum number of required hours read and for students that are the top readers!!!

This school year is about to begin.  It's going to be an exciting year-full of learning, fun, and investigation!
Third grade is an enlightening place to be!  During the year we will be working very hard to become responsible classroom and school citizens.  We will be working to achieve the state academic learning requirements and grade level expectations.  Key skills we will focus on are; organization, responsibility, collaboration, and teamwork.
I am very excited to have the priviledge of teaching your child this year!  I bring a wealth of experience to this position.  I have been teaching in the Sedro-Woolley School District for the past 24 years.  I have taught 5th/6th grade and 2nd/3rd grade at Samish for that entire time!
Personally, I recently remarried (2 years this August), my husband, Pat McSorley.  Thus, my long-hyphenated last name.  We have a 14 year old son, Spencer.  He will begin high school this year in Sedro-Woolley.  We also have a college-age daughter, Shannon.  She attends CWU and plays first base for their women's fastpitch team.
We live in Sedro-Woolley near Samish Elementary.
I want to encourage parents and families to be as involved in our classroom as you wish.  Please feel free to contact me regarding any concerns or ideas you may have.  I lok forward to developing a great relationship with my students and their families!
