    English 11
    In Junior English our literary focus will be on American literature with the themes being "What does it mean to be an American?" and "What is the American dream?"  Emphasis will be placed on critical and creative thinking, reading and writing.  Students will read short stories, novels, plays, and non-fiction by American authors. 

    AP United States History
    This course is taught in the 11th grade and adheres to the curricular requirements established by the College Board.  AP US History includes the study of political institutions, social and cultural developments, diplomacy, and economic trends in US history.  In addition, the course uses themes and topics as broad parameters for structure and teaches students to analyze evidence and interpretations presented in historical scholarship.  The course includes extensive instruction in analysis and interpretation of a wide variety of primary sources.  Lastly, the course provides students with frequent practice in writing analytical and interpretive essays including document-based questions and thematic essays.
