(360) 855-4065Welcome ,All of my life I have loved math and have wanted to share that excitement and understanding with others. I'm pleased to begin my tenth year as a math teacher at Sedro-Woolley High School. Before coming here I received my Masters in Applied Mathematics at the Univerisity of Washington and worked as a mathematician for Bank of America for over 10 years. I've taught at Lynden High School and at Shuksan Middle School in Bellingham.I live in Bellingham with my husband and some international students. My 24-year-old daughter lives in British Columbia with her husband and son and is expecting again in Feb. (I love grandparenting!). My 22-year-old son is getting his Masters in Teaching at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, preparing to be a HS math teacher. My 20-year-old son is studying kinesiology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA and playing baseball. I enjoy playing pickleball, watching sports, going to the theatre, sailing and traveling.
The best way to succeed in math class is to pay attention in class and do your assignments. Parents are encouraged to make sure your student is completing their assignments each night, but I don’t expect parents to help with the math. If you have questions, you need to ask for help until you understand it. If you work hard on your assignments, the remainder of the class will take care of itself. I will be in my room before and after school for extra help, except when I have a meeting.
If at any time your grade drops below 70%, you will be required to stay at school outside of school hours at least 1 hour a week until your grade is up.
