Welcome to 6th grade

Welcome to Ms Peck’s Homeroom, Science and Social Studies 6^th Grade Classes!

            I would like to introduce myself.  I live in Bellingham, WA with my husband and golden retriever! We have lived here for over 20 years!

            I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management; a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education; and a Masters Degree in Literacy.  I have had many other careers before becoming a teacher.  Some of my more interesting jobs were being a marine biology technician; a park ranger and a wildland firefighter!  I love my job as a teacher because I enjoy working with children!  I am especially excited to be teaching science and social studies this year!

This is the first year for the 6^th grade teachers to teach different subjects.  It is a nice way for students to get used to traveling from class to class.  It also gives students a chance to get to know different teachers.  I am enjoying getting to know all the 6^th graders instead of just one third of the group! I am teaching homeroom, science and social studies.

            In 6^th grade we expect students to:

                  Be a leader

                  Be respectful and responsible

                  Be prepared
