This is my 19th year in Sedro-Woolley School District. I have been teaching all of these years at Big Lake Elementary and I feel priviledged to be a part of the Big Lake community. I received my undergraduate degree in English from the University of Washington.....GO HUSKIES!!! My graduate degree is in Creative Arts from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I also earned my National Board Certification as an Early Childhood/Generalist in 2006. I assist other educators working on their National Board Certification. During the summer, I also teach high school students Traffic Safety Education. Therefore, I work with 6 year olds , 16 year olds and adult learners of all ages. When I am not teaching, you will usually find me near a softball field. I spend my free time watching my 20 year old daughter Madeline play softball for the Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, mostly online but also the occasional trip to her tournaments. Here is a link to the Bradley Softball website if you want to check it out: http://www.bradleybraves.com/ I also love to read the newspaper, novels, magazines and children's books. I collect cookbooks and love to try new recipes and take the occasional cooking class. Gardening is something I love to do but never have enough time so the weeds always seem to be the winner. I have a miniature poodle named Rosie and her nickname is "The Toothless Wonder."
