•    Mary Purcell Elementary Principal Goals and Expectations:2016-17

     

       Quality Instruction:

    • Professional Learning Community: Committed to working collaboratively in ongoing processes of collective inquiry in order to achieve better results for our students. Teachers meet in Professional Learning Communities and data meetings focused on student success and intervention needs. 

    • Core Instruction: Committed to having a Clear Purpose, increased Student Engagement, focused on Curriculum and Pedagogy, and using Assessment Strategies and Data to make informed decisions to improve instruction.

    • Targeted Interventions: Committed to working together to provide needed support for our students. Using our workshop, intervention time, and intervention team wisely to provide support for students throughout the classroom.

    • Time on Task: Maximizing our instructional time and student engagement with content.

       

      Reading: We will remain committed with implementing CCSS, using our adopted materials and teaching it with fidelity. Every teacher committed to progress monitoring for student success.                            

      Writing: We will have high expectations for written assignments to align with CCSS and common rubrics. We will implement Writers’ Workshop for at least 4 days at 40 minutes or 4 days at 60 minutes per week. We will remain focused on student work requirements: Restate, Answer, & Prove as a minimum requirement for written responses

                                            •   Math: We will remain committed with implementing CCSS, using our adopted materials and teaching it with fidelity. Every teacher committed to progress monitoring for student success. We will provide CORE instructional time for math each day. Every classroom teacher will be responsible for progress monitoring Number Sense per CCSS to reach a goal of at least 85% mastery for their class.
